BEND IT LIKE KAITLIN
Live from the Livingston County...

...invitational soccer tournament tonight near Brighton, MI, the debut of the Novi Jaguars under-15 ladies soccer team, starring (among others) Bro Martin and Sue's daughter (Meg's cousin), Kaitlin Ehman. The team won 4-2 against a team of under-16yo. Well done Kaitlin and team! Leslie, Meg and I enjoyed watching from the sidelines along with Martin, Sue and Kaitlin's sister, Brooke (a fine soccer player in her own right).

...our California friend and a construction boss (who oversaw the building and operation of the TMI Base Club during the last Cup in Auckland), writes about the picture he sent below:

"One of the things I like best about the construction industry is the great combination of creativity and frankness. You have to admit, not only does this jump out and immediately capture your attention, but it clearly and succinctly communicates the product being offered !!"

PAUL PIX
The Maui Marauder checks in to the EFB....

Brother Paul writes: "Attached are some pics from the trip to Michigan.  We had a riot riding horses with Ruth, fishing, sailing, water skiing and playing with my new foil board, watching fireworks, visiting friends, making fun of red necks eating at Aunt Betty's, etc."

Fishing with his son, Nalu, in what looks like Portage Bay, or what was always called Mud Bay when we were growing up (before the property developers got hold of it).

Happy Trails to You! Sister Ruth makes a point on her farm/private zoo, with Nalu (leading the pack) and Roxanne (foreground, right).

The "bros pose" on a J-22 in Narragansett Bay during the UBS Trophy Regatta in June. "He's really your brother? Where'd he get that hair? How'd he turn out so cool when you are so stuffy??"

LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL
by Meg

You know how people say when things are finally getting better you can see the "light at the end of the tunnel?" Well this street could not be described better. Its name is "Rheingoldweg" (pronounced RINE-gold-vehg"..."weg" means "street" in German).

[Yes, the streets in our neighborhood are named for Wagnernian operas -- TFE]

This is looking down the street to our house. At the very end of "tunnel" if you turn left right away, you will pull into the driveway of our house.

If you think the trees are beautiful now you should see them in Autumn! Then red, orange, yellow, green and brown leaves cover the paths, and a few still cling to the branches.

Our house is the light at the end of this tunnel.
